Red Wing Shoes - Boots Review

Terrible material quality, soles of my boots are "laminating" The sole its self is coming off the boot in strips. Boots are only 5 months old. I was told by the store that there was to much wear on the soles to cover by warranty. However when I pointed out that the soles were coming off in strips and that the other boot (of the same pair) was showing hardly any use I was told that I must walk to hard on my right side... 40 years of buying Redwing shoes and I'm done. I was told that I needed to contact Redwing directly to get any thing done about the problem. Will do that and then probably still change to a different shoe.

I too long time firm believer. Totally shocked by the deterioration of the "new" composite sole.

Paid more hard earned money because of so-called upgraded boots. Same style I've been buying for years don't last a fraction.

Funny part is , I'm no longer doing concreat work anymore.. I paint now, way less abuse and they still don't last half as long

I was an avid Red Wing Shoe supporter. Bought new shoes 2018 went into major foot pain...

Returned them. They relocated operations to Vietnam to cut costs.

And quality! I could not believe it!

Greatest Company

I only wear Red Wing Boots for my everyday life. Early August 2018 I purchased my newest pair, model 676. I found that I could only wear the boot for a very small amount of time before the top of my toes on my right foot became so irritated that I had to take the boot off. I decided to take the boot to a cobbler seeing as I went over my 30-day return policy from Red Wing. The cobbler insisted that I call Red Wing and speak with them. After googling the customer service, I was brought to Pissed Consumer where a representative named Aaron answered. He assured me that the boots were covered by the one-year warranty if anything about the boot was defective. I then brought the boots back to the store which I bought them from and was able to swap them out for another pair. I could not be happier with the Red Wing Shoe Company or the Pissed Consumer service for helping me with this problem.

I am a very unsatisfied customer

Soles cracked due to cold weather and bending down in the second month owned, they have extremely slippery soles in cold weather on concrete that’s wet , the shoelace hooks were really sharp and ruined shoelaces regularly. I came in to purchase the 405 and left with wing shooter because of salesperson. The sizing on the boots were perfect upon buying but after wearing they stretched out significantly. The hooks for shoelaces catch on ladders as I climb very unsafe.

lost boots

I took a pair of redwing boots to the Fayetteville, NC store 1 year ago to have the bottom repaired. I have gone to the store on several occasions and called many times. Each time I am told that they cannot find my boots and the manager is not available, but will call me ASAP. No one ever calls. I have been a customer for over 20 years. Can you please help me get my boots, or have them replaced. My name is Delton Bullard. my phone number is 910-624-**** (cell) . Thank you for your assistance. Delton Bullard

Greatest Company

This is the greatest boot company. They stand by their products and warranties. I don’t wear anything else. Both Red Wing and Pissed Consumer helped me through the problem and never gave me an ounce of hassle. Aaron from Pissed Consumer and David from Red Wing Shoe Store Massapequa location should be supervisors/ managers.

Boot toe way to narrow

Bought a pair of red wings for $400.00. Wore them the first day of work and it fetl like my pinky toes was squished to the point that that it blistered and became numb. These are the first pair ive purchased and will definitely be the last. Ive had $150.00 boots that are lot more acceptable. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!!0

I bought a pair of boots in March 28, 2018, the boots ripped from the side just after less than three months of purchasing them, I went to the store and asked for an exchange but I was denied one even tho I was told I had a sixth month guarantee when I had bought them, I was offered a repair, but it would take about one week to repair and I need the boots for work. I’m very unsatisfied with the quality of the boots considering the price.

Both boots ? That's awful.

They used to sell an exceptional product ; I hope they're not all like that. I'm retired now but I used to buy these for the workers at my machine shop - the good steel toe version with foot guards that lasted for years.

THANK YOU!!!!!

HI. My husband always wore red wing steel toed boots to work. One night he was ran over by a fork lift. He was care flighted to OSU who saved his life. The first night , after surgery, I was told of his condition. One thing that amazed the surgeon was his foot was not broken, or crushed. My husband was ran over, then they backed over him again to free his trapped body. His leg was split open from knee to ankle. His boot was very scuffed, but no foot or ankle injuries. the 3rd day, he lost his leg. He still wears redwing boots faithfully, and says he always will. Thank you all for such an amazing product...We love you! Ross and Kywana Koogler

I don't know where they test redwings out but mine didn't last even 7 months!!! I then emailed them and told them with pictures of my boots and the special inserts for $60 on April 7, it's now may 22 and i am still waiting on a 75$ gift card for new ones. I can't send them back to get fixed because the only boots i have and work 5 days a week. It's ridiculous!!! $75 isn't even half of what i paid for the boots..i mean i get that there not gunna last forever but 7 months.. really?!?

Rotten crumbling soles on Worx by Red Wing

Bought these new Worx by Red Wing for a Christmas present for my wife. She wore them approximately 8 hours.

The soles began falling apart. I’ve read similar stories from others that get attacked by corporate bloggers that extol the virtue of the product complained about and demean the complaining consumer. One of the reasons they gave for the defect was to blame the consumer for walking though chemicals or melting the soles at a campfire. Maybe they look like they are melted but actually they are just crumbling rotten soles, inferior probably Chinese materials.

Not that all Chinese materials are bad.

Too often though they the Chinese make things the cheapest way possible. The product like these boots look great on the shelf but as soon as they are used they fall apart.

This happened to me today. I had a brand new pair of Worx black military or policeman type boot.

These boots were store brand new in the box in my closet for about 2 years. I took them out today. The soles were sticky/tacky and very soft. They felt apart after a 2 walk in the woods on a trail.

I will never buy Worx boots.

This is the second pair that I owned. The first pair fell apart the same way but I thought it was due to wearing while riding my Harley.

I had a very similar experience. After purchasing at a Redwing store, wore the Worx steel toe boots about a dozen times before I retired.

They sat on the floor of my closet a couple years. The next time I wore them (took a pickup load of garbage to the dump), both soles actually fell off.

My worx boots are the same. The soles are falling apart will never buy again.

Happen to me too, red wing customer service is trash, they

I have the same problem, on my third pair, they don't last a year, the rubber comes apart then the sole comes apart. Junk in a box.
